Trips away (2007/2008)

We go on weekends away usually twice a term to places such as [:Snowdonia:], the [:PeakDistrict:Peak District] and the [:LakeDistrict:Lake District]. These are excellent opportunities to do some great walking and climbing in some of the most beautiful parts of Britain, and makes a change from the routine of University and Canterbury.

A map of where we've been can be found on the [:Pictures:] page. Some more detailed [:Routes: routes with pictures and annotations] are available on the [:Routes:] page.

About half of the people who go on trips will do some [:Routes: walking] rather than climbing (especially if the weather is not so good) so the trips are not just for the die hard climbers in the club; mountaineering includes [:Routes: walking] too!

The trips cost about 20 - 30 pounds and include transport and [:HutList: accommodation] which usually take the form of a minibus and a [:HutList: hut] (no camping normally!). All you need is a sleeping bag and a waterproof jacket! A list of things which are a good idea to bring anyway: [:KitList:].
