Trips away (2007/2008)
We go on weekends away usually twice a term to places such as Snowdonia, the Peak District and the Lake District. These are excellent opportunities to do some great walking and climbing in some of the most beautiful parts of Britain, and makes a change from the routine of University and Canterbury.
A map of where we've been can be found on the Pictures page. Some more detailed routes with pictures and annotations are available on the Routes page.
About half of the people who go on trips will do some walking rather than climbing (especially if the weather is not so good) so the trips are not just for the die hard climbers in the club; mountaineering includes walking too!
The trips cost about 20 - 30 pounds and include transport and accommodation which usually take the form of a minibus and a hut (no camping normally!). All you need is a sleeping bag and a waterproof jacket! A list of things which are a good idea to bring anyway: KitList.
