Christmas Dinner 2006/2007
Arrangements
4 Days to go, so get your tuxeudos and dresses clean and shiny. 
The dinner is planned for an 8pm start. Meeting from 7pm in the [:CanterburyPubs/WestgateWetherspoons:Westgate Wetherspoons] to walk down to [:CanterburyPubs/SimpleSimons:Simple Simon's] for 8.
Saturday 9th December, 2006
We will be dining at [:CanterburyPubs/SimpleSimons:Simple Simon's] this year, on Saturday 9th December. Signup for the meal will be on Friday 17th Nov. at 2-3pm in the K-Bar. Cost is 20 pounds. Choose your main course in advance -- for Friday! You only need to choose your main course at this point (the others can wait). If you haven't booked by now (December) it's too late, sorry!
Dress code is formal; that's tuxedos for the blokes and dresses for the lasses. No cross dressing please!
Entrees
- Simon's salad
- Roasted peppers with an anchovy veloute
- Mixed grilled vegetables in a sweet and sour sauce
- Skewers of marinaded swordfish and tuna, cherry tomatoes and olives
First course
- Home-made soup
Main Course
choose one of these for signup on Friday! (and 20 quid)
- Traditional roast turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce with chipolata sausages wrapped in bacon
- English lamb shank with a rich red wine reduction and mint sauce
- Roast loin of pork stuffed with asparagus in a walnut sauce
- Grilled wild sea bass with red onion marmalade and grapes
- Home-made vegetable wellington
(all main courses served with roast potatoes and steamed mixed vegetables)
Desserts
- Fresh fruit salad
- Barbara's home-made christmas pudding with mince pie and brandy sauce
And after all that deliciousness, coffee or tea. Plus plenty of social lubricant throughout (but we have to buy that separately!).
